hello from 10 days ago, before i packed up and traveled to a home away from home deep in the woods. Crip News will be back on Monday, May 13. thanks for being here.
[this song features a femme voice celebrating our need for love and appreciation. We are spirits with pure energies / Trying to give and take all that we need. it’s a driving bop, a mood boost, a moment to smile.]
this is one of the most important weeks of my year, when i gather with queer and trans family on sacred land for the annual spring rite of Beltane, May 1st. it is my new year, a sexy and chaotic time to sow what we want to grow and leave behind what we can’t take with us.
for the past several years, i’ve been stirring a growing cauldron of access magic with other queercrips, wondering what it means to conjure a future for more elder, disabled, chronically ill, Mad, neurodivergent people in rural queer communities. it is difficult and transformative werq.
Beltane is also May Day, a time to celebrate workers building new and better worlds. i’m reminding myself of something i think i know: that in every community, in every organizing/movement space, there are access witches helping people get what they need.
i hope you feel some soil this week, slow way down, and exalt in the access ecologies that keep us trained on more accessible tomorrows.

This was a wonderful post. Thank you for the reminder to touch soil. I went and potted mint leaves for tea this summer.
