Long COVID Justice
The National Network for Long COVID Justice has released “Pandemics Are Chronic: A Statement of Commitment to Long COVID Justice” as a sign-on pledge that calls for the end to “practices and policies that ignore, marginalize and deprioritize chronically-ill and disabled people.” Activist JD Davids explains why we should sign the pledge and what we can do next.

The Ford & Robert Wood Johnson Foundations have committed more than $3 million to the Disability & Philanthropy Forum, whose mission is “centering the perspectives of disabled people while engaging philanthropy on a collective journey to understand disability inclusion as key to advancing social justice.”
Gaelynn Lee for Macbeth
Disabled folk musician Gaelynn Lea is composing original music for a revival of Macbeth starring Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga coming to Broadway at the end of the month.

New York’s American Folk Art Museum has acquired the archives of the Healing Arts Initiative, an organization that closed in 2016.

Guaranteed Income for Artists will support 2,400 New York State artists with regular, $1,000, no-strings-attached cash payments for 18 consecutive months.
Artist Employment Program will fund employment for 300 artists working in collaboration with community-based organizations across the State for 2 years. Participating AEP artists will receive a salary of $65,000 per year plus benefits and dedicated time to focus on their artistic practice.
